Inquiry - Name It

A problem, business goal, or idea. It comes in all shapes and sizes but on thing remains the same: we’ve got to name the problem. Identifying “it” will also help us determine what success looks like at the end of our time together. We’ll start high level and plug in any existing strategy you might have and build from there. Each project plan being unique.

People-Centric

Who are we serving? Who will be using the things we make and where will they live? Questions like these will add to the strategic picture we need to develop successful outcomes. Good design is only good design if it functions well by serving the intended people it was built to communicate with.

Poke-The-Box

Questions, curiosity, and exploration are rampant in this stage. Tons of research and exploration of things like: the current market, design systems that work (and don’t), development trends, ideas and possible solutions, as well as new user experience breakthroughs.

Conceptual Directions

Post-research, I develop a few conceptual directions that will serve as potential roadmaps forward. This helps us narrow the focus and gives us a clear direction on executing. Throughout this whole process we get closer and closer to what feels like the right deliverables for the project.

Construction

Let’s build it. Through the feedback and revision process, I’ll build the assets (logo, colors, labels, signage, etc) and we’ll revise as necessary. This part is often full of dust and debris flying everywhere, but is also incredibly gratifying to see the project finally take shape. Be patient, we’re almost there.

Polish & Scale

The final stage is full of brand guides, saving folders and files, and providing frameworks and direction for long term success. This is essential to a successful project to ensure that you don’t continually have to bring in help but are able to self sustain and implement the solution like an absolute boss.
